WhatsApp working on feature to let users report status updates; Here’s all you need to know | Technology News

New Delhi: Media-owned messaging platform, WhatsApp is said to be working on a new feature that will provide users with the ability to flag status updates on the desktop beta. The new feature will allow users to report a status update directly within a new listing in the Status section, WABetaInfo Reports.

If users see any suspicious status update that may violate the Terms of Service, they will be able to report this to the moderation team using the new option. Just like the reporting letters, the status update will be forwarded to the company for moderation reasons so they can see if there is a violation or not. (ALSO READ: BUMPER RETURN BUSINESS IDEA! However, this feature does not break the end-to-end encryption. No one, not even WhatsApp and Meta, can see the content of users’ messages and listen to their private calls, but it is important for the company to bring the reporting option to maintain the safety of the platform and users. The report said that the ability to flag status updates is under development and will be released in a future WhatsApp Desktop beta update. Meanwhile, last month, the messaging system rolled out a new feature to some beta testers that allows users to view profile pictures within group chats on desktop.
