New Delhi: You may feel the need to jot things down from time to time to remember them. Even if your phone has a Notes app, many people like to jot things down on WhatsApp because they use it constantly and it makes it easy for them to remember them when receiving a text message. Recently, the messaging app was seen developing a feature that allows users to communicate with themselves. Seems impossible, right?
Users cannot send text messages to their own numbers under the current system. Meta-owned WhatsApp is working on a number of interesting features to improve the user experience. However, with the new WhatsApp connected functionality, this seemingly impossible thing could soon become a reality.
The ability to send messages to yourself from a linked device is one characteristic of a multi-device system that it lacks, according to a WABetaInfo study. Wabetainfo also mentioned that “WhatsApp is finally working on a fix to publish in a later upgrade of WhatsApp Desktop beta.” The functionality is currently being beta-tested by WhatsApp before it is finally made available to all users.
According to the report, when users try to log into WhatsApp from a mobile device, their name will appear at the top of the contact list. Although WhatsApp has not added support for additional mobile in the multi-device configuration, it will be soon. The reports added that the functionality will be expanded to Android and iOS beta versions as well as the desktop beta version, which WhatsApp is currently testing.
Eventually, you will be able to see your name in the list of conversations if you are using WhatsApp on a laptop or PC. The feature is being tested at the moment, and will be rolled out in a few days.
