WhatsApp BANS over 23 lakh accounts in India in October for THIS reason — Details Inside | Technology News

New Delhi: Communications app WhatsApp on Wednesday announced that it had banned more than 23 lakh bad accounts in India in the month of October for violating the new IT rules 2021. The platform received 701 complaints in October, with action taken on 34 complaints.

A WhatsApp spokesperson said: “In accordance with the IT rules of 2021, we have published our report for the month of October 2022. As captured in the latest monthly report, WhatsApp banned more than 2.3 million accounts in the month of October.”

The platform, which has more than 500 million users in India, banned 31,23,24,000 WhatsApp accounts between October 1 and October 31.

What to do if your account is banned

It may be possible that some user accounts have been banned by mistake, inappropriate reasons or due to misunderstanding. Moreover, they did not receive any precautionary warning. In this case, you will see the following message when you try to access WhatsApp – “Your phone number is blocked from using WhatsApp. Contact support for help.”

If you feel your account has been banned by mistake or without any reason, you will need to send an email to your messaging app at “wa@support.whatsapp.com” to further investigate the issue.
