Twitter rolls out an ‘Edit button’ on the platform; here is all you need to know | Technology News

New Delhi: Twitter has finally started testing the edit tweet button on the platform. Users have long asked the company to provide a feature to edit tweets. However, there is a problem here. The feature will be available first to Twitter Blue users, who are subscribers of the company’s monthly plan. It will take a little longer for the feature to be rolled out to all users.

While announcing the new test on its official Twitter account, Twitter wrote, “If you see an edited tweet, it’s because we’re testing the edit button, that’s what’s going on and you’ll be fine.”

Once the feature is rolled out, users will have 30 minutes to edit their tweets and the edited tweet will appear with an edit timestamp below the tweet. Besides, people can click on the edit sticker to read the entire tweet history – like the times they are edited.

What is Twitter Blue?

Twitter Blue is a monthly subscription service that was introduced by Twitter in 2021. It was first launched for users of Australia and Canada, which was later expanded to include US and New Zealand users. It is worth noting that Twitter Blue users first get all the premium Twitter features.

The premium service also allows you to read news without ads, organize your bookmarks into folders, pin conversations in your DMs, upload videos up to 10 minutes long, and edit a tweet now posted.
