New Delhi: It seems that in 2024, the American tech giant Apple will pull the plug on the iPhone SE, which is the smartphone that the company offers to the budget segment. According to The Verge, an American technology news site, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who bases his forecast on sources in the supply chain, wrote in a blog post on Friday that Apple has canceled production and shipping plans for the phone.
This comes after it was expected in the last month that the fourth generation of iPhone SE could be canceled or delayed. According to Duo, the reason for the phone’s cancellation may be that Apple’s low-end phones were selling worse than the company had hoped, GSM Arena reported.
Also, a further increase in the price of the kit could make it less attractive to price-conscious buyers. It wouldn’t be surprising if Apple didn’t end up releasing an iPhone SE in 2024 because back in March, Kuo and Nikkei Asia reported that Apple was already cutting back on the number of iPhone SE it plans to produce just weeks after the phone was released.
According to GSM Arena, it would be understandable if Apple wasn’t in a rush to make a follow-up to a phone that didn’t make a lot of money. Meanwhile, the third-generation iPhone SE was released two years after the second version, and there was a four-year gap after the first model was launched.
