San Francisco: Tech giant Apple is said to be expanding its Dynamic Island feature to all iPhone 15 models, likely to be released next year.
Dynamic Island is a pill-shaped area that surrounds the Face ID sensors and the front camera on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro max.
According to display industry analyst Ross Young, “Dynamic Island is expected on the Model 15’s standard models. I still wouldn’t expect 120Hz/LTPO on standard models because the supply chain doesn’t support it.”
The feature can display system alerts for things like incoming phone calls and prompt Face ID authentication, and will also work with live activities in third-party apps when iOS 16.1 is released later this year, MacRumors reports.
A recent report mentioned that some app developers have created games that revolve around the new design on the home screen.
App developer Kriss Smolka created a Pong-style game called “Hit the Island”. It challenges the user to bounce a ball between the paddle and the dynamic island to earn points.
Meanwhile, Apollo app developer Christian Selig added for Reddit the fun option to keep a split pet on Dynamic Island when using the app.
